Messages Of Condolence

I was unable to attend Denis's funeral due to an unexpected emergency illness within the family. I worked with him at the end 1974/75/76 at Hinckley. He was firm, but fair in his leadership and managerial role. His guidance was very much appreciated. My condolences to his nearest and dearest. My sister worked with Robert (Bob) so there was a double connection in how our paths crossed. With very kind regards and thoughts. I have sent a donation to LOROS.

Right up until the last year of his life, Denis was concerned that the heritage of Stoke Golding should be preserved. He was a friend of our parents, Desmond and Ros, when they lived at Park House in the village, and was instrumental, with them and the Stoke Golding Heritage Group, in the publication of W. T. Hall's 'A History of Stoke Golding'. After both our parents had passed away, he kindly kept in touch with us every Christmas and made sure that flowers were placed on their grave in our absence. A kind man and a staunch friend, qualities which no doubt earned him the comfort of being nursed at home through his final illness. Our thoughts are with his friend Bob and his nephew Jeff in their bereavement.
