Had the pleasure of getting to know Owen during the early 1990's when I was fortunate enough to play for the same cricket team as him. He was a wonderful character full of fun and humour and he was much respected and loved by the rest of his team-mates. Going on tour with him was great and I was also lucky enough to share the same digs with Owen and four or five of the other lads. We had a great time and a great deal of that was down to him. Condolences to all his family and very close friends. He will be very sadly missed I am sure - even though I only knew him for a few years he created a great impression on me and Yvonne too. RIP mate (and hope your beloved Sky Blues can perhaps go up with hopefully my beloved Clarets)

Mate. What a loss, you made a great difference to Coventry Willow Cricket Club, loved our cricket tours. Could not make the service Anne and I had COVID. Sky Blues forever from another Cov fan living in Hinckley.

Was a pleasure working with Owen, an absolute gentleman, we always remember his funny stories and some of his made up words for things, or were they made up? Rest well big Guy.

Owen was a great friend and neighbour for over thirty five years. We had many good times together - football at Highfield Road, cricket and ice hockey, not to mention keeping an envious eye on his garden tomatoes and flowers. We shall remember him with a smile!
We are sorry we can't be with you at this sad time, our thoughts will be with you.
