Still a teenager when we arrived in Barwell but saw me grow up and, with Mike, stayed in touch after I left home and became my longest lasting friends at the church. Thank you for your lovely welcome every time I turned up, whether planned or out of the blue. The news of your death has come as a real shock and I feel very sad, but also so thankful to have known you. To Mike we send our love and hold you in our prayers. Nick & Barbara.

What a sad and inconceivable message.
When we opened the card from Barwell I just felt that there is something different this time and a few moments later the bad feeling has been confirmed.
Mike, Melanie, Sarah, our thoughts are close to you and your family in this hard days.
And they are with you, dear Susan, and they will stay!
Yours, Thomas and family from Herford

Sue was such a lovely person, always thinking of others before herself. She always asked about me and my family, not just a passing greeting, but a genuine interest in what was happening in my life. Even after I asked about her health, she soon turned the conversation around to how I was. This was her way, thinking of others before herself. On Sundays, even if someone is sitting in front of me, that seat will seem empty, because it was where Sue sat and always to turned around to ask how I was.
